Utah with the Middle McKee's

It's been a few years since we've been to Utah, like, four maybe? Whatever the number it's way too high. Last year we were supposed to spend a week with our family but when we got to Reno we learned the McKee's had the stomach flu so we were forced to spend a few days vacationing in Nevada before turning back to Sac. In the words of Lizzo, it was about darn time that we made our way up there, and it ended up being such a great time spent with family!

It only made sense that we showed up to caravan to Utah basically matching from head to toe, it's almost comical how often that happens these days. 

We got to stay at Jordan and Mad's new house and it was huge and new and perfect! 

Triplet love forever and ever!

I love the Provo Rec Center so much. Every time I go to a class or we go the pool I can't help but repeat a million times that Provo peeps are the absolute luckiest to have such a gem to use!!! We did High Fitness and I was totally obsessed. 

Also, Utah parks and splash pads and everything are just totally where it's at. I love how they cater to families...it's amazing!

Meanwhile, at home, this is what my dumb dog likes to do in a mud puddle at our local school!

I got my whole family into this water park for $17!!! How does that even make sense? I love the rec center so so much.

T was still so little when Cora was born and he doesn't really remember holding or caring for babies. Rosie was the perfect baby to teach him a thing or two. She is so sweet and we all just love her so much.

The candy counter has definitely gotten an upgrade since I went to BYU.

I was giddy at the opportunity to see my LA friends who were in Utah at the same time. Laura because she now lives there, Kayce because she was staying with family for the summer. Those LA friends will always have the most special place in my heart. 

Ummm....they used to be tiny and now they are teenagers. 

These two were absolute maniacs at Splash Summit, riding allll of the water slides with no fear.

It's so fun running into old friends around Utah...they're everywhere! Mary and I knew each other at BYU, and then again at Stanford. She lives in Southern California now and I'm in Sacramento so it really was the craziest thing to run into each other in Provo!

Nickel City is a crowd pleaser. 

I can sleep literally anywhere and everywhere and I don't move a muscle all night. Fell asleep like this and Ash snapped this picture seven hours later haha!

Ev's Birthday Interview

Do you want to hear about the absolute PERFECT way that Ev spent his 11th birthday that honestly couldn't have been written better for a movie script? Well, his all-star baseball team clinched the District Title ON HIS ACTUAL BIRTHDAY with a late-game win. Woo-hoo! Not only does this mean that they will move on to Sections but it also means that Ev's name will be printed on a banner that will forever hang at the FOV field. He. was. pumped! And then, a few days later, we took a dozen of his buddies to a Rivercats game with fireworks and stuffed everyone full of hot dogs and soda and candy and fun! This boy is baseball OBSESSED and I don't think I've ever seen anyone work harder or be more dedicated to anything in my life. He wakes up early to practice on his own, is constantly begging people to play with him and talks baseball nonstop. I love that he is so passionate about it and I hope that it continues, because turns out having a child athlete is ridiculously fun for the parent as well! Love you Ever Knight, happy birthday buddy.

What is your favorite...

Color:  Blue

Food:   Hmmmm…I think it’s probably bacon, yeah. Thick bacon, smoked, that stuff’s good.

Game:   I would say Forbidden Island.

Book:  I would say The Dragon Watch Series. I know you didn’t ask series, you asked book, so just one of those books.

Toy:  My baseball bat and ball

Treat:  I would say mango 

Song:  Song? Uh. I don’t really have one, I like a lot of songs. Just say “Be like that” that’s fine.

Thing to learn about:  History and that’s just my favorite subject but my favorite thing to learn about is greeks and stuff like that.

Animal:   Juniper, dogs, Juniper.

TV show:  Are we counting movies? Or is there a different one that says favorite movie? I would say WandaVision.

Thing to wear:  I would say shorts, a t-shirt and one of my baseball hat. My watermelon dodgers hat or my green Dodgers hat are my favorites.

Holiday:  Christmas

What do you want to be when you grow up?  A major league baseball player and if I don’t get into that, a physicist. I just don’t really know what chemistry job is called so I said a physicist. James: A chemist. Oh, ok then I want to be a chemist.

If someone was being mean to your brother or sister, what would you do?  Well, um, do I have to keep this clean? I would ask them to please stop and if they kept going I would turn them into authorities. 

 

Who is your best friend?  Milo

 

What is something you want to learn to do this year?  I want to get better at grammar.

 

What is something that you are really good at?  Baseball

 

If you had a million dollars, what would you buy? A million, could you buy a pretty good size house for that? I would buy a pretty big house, save some for college savings and buy a dog. Oh, and food obviously.

 

If you were an animal, what would you be?  A hawk so I could fly around and stuff and it would be cool because I can see really good.

  

What do you want someone to invent? I think I’ve already said this but a microwave that could make healthy food taste like delicious so like you’d put in carrots and they’d taste like brownies and it wouldn’t have the sugar but a lot of protein and the texture would be better too. 

 

If you could have a magic power, what would it be?  To make illusions and stuff.

 

How many kids do you want to have when you grow up and get married?  If I am, I would like three kids.

 

What kind of house would you like to live in: an igloo, a tree house, a castle, a cave, or our house? A treehouse.

Where do you want to go on your mission?  I seriously don’t care. Well, no, Sacramento area, Utah area or Italy.
