Grands Week: Tahoe with the Wigs

A repeating narrative in 2020 seems to be, "We had this awesome event/activity/trip planned, but then Corona cancelled it." It's been a hard pill to swallow at times, but thank goodness some of those cancelled plans have worked out in different and fun ways. Grands Week with the Big Wig's is a good example of this. We were supposed to spend a week on the beach and the plans were nearly a year in the making, but about three weeks before our trip the landlord called to tell us that their county was still not allowing visitors and they were going to have to cancel our reservation. We were so bummed! But Papa and Gigi saved the day by calling the Feuchter family and asking if we could stay in the beloved Tahoe Cabin for the week. They agreed and the week was saved!!! Tahoe is one of my very favorite places on earth, and this week away was just what my body and soul needed. The kids loved, loved, LOVED playing with their Utah cousins and we made the absolute most of our week right on the lake. Thanks Papa and Gigi for another amazing Grands Week...one of my very favorite Wiggy traditions!

This was my view from the deck of our cabin all week. The water was so high and the views breathtaking.

Crazy cuzzies!

It took her a minute to muster up the courage to jump off the pier but she did it!

This little one is always dancing through life!

Morning yoga with Chaya and Uncle B.

I mean, c'mon! Can I stay forever?

My favorite hike to Eagle Lake. This water is freezing and also a mirror to those mountains.

Feeding the ducks out of their hands.

I have a picture of me and her from this exact spot from a few years ago when I carried her in the pack and Ev on my back for almost this whole hike. I'm so glad she was able to hike along my side this time around!

Everett is usually a little less adventurous so I worried that he wouldn't love (or even participate) in the ropes course at Granlibakken. Boy, was I wrong!!! This little one absolutely rocked this activity! He was running across bridges, flying off of black diamond ziplines and smiling the whole time. He loved it!!! I'm so glad I didn't allow my preconceived notions get in the way of his accomplishments.

Corona-Memes

The very best thing that has come out of sickness season are internet memes. Honestly, I'm grateful for them as silly as that sounds, because the laughter they can bring is unreal. Here are some of my favorites that I never want to forget.
