Quinny's Bonkers Summer

Quinny's summer has been nutty, poor girl. First, she broke her arm. About a week after she got her cast off she spiked a fever of nearly 105 that couldn't be brought down with medicine. We ended up in the ER and it took some steroids and antibiotics to bring down that fever and allow her to eat and drink again. And then a few weeks later she got stung by a bee and her whole face was swollen until she couldn't even open her eye. Oh my goodness! Another round of steroids and an epi pen for the future was what our doctor ordered. Quinny girl--I think we've reached our doctor quota for the year thank you very much!

They never figured out just what was wrong with Quinn but some heavy meds brought her fever down and allowed her to rehydrate her body. I'm so grateful for modern day medicine because I haven't seen one of my babies so sick in a long, long time.

12 hours post bee sting.

18 hours post bee sting.

And these last two are 24 hours post bee sting. We had no idea that Quinny was allergic...but I guess her Pepa's genes have passed through to our girl. Stay away from our family, bumble bees. We are not your biggest fans!

Ev's Birthday Interview

It was a sad day when Ev and I learned that girls camp this year was going to be held the week of Everett's 10th birthday. I mean, double digits are a big deal and we both were bummed. We decided we were going to celebrate his birthday before I left, but what he didn't know was that I had invited over a huge group of kids to celebrate with him! His reaction to the surprise was epic and seeing him feel so loved and seen made my heart swell. Everett is just so much fun! He loves baseball, has a knack for fashion, is effortlessly cool and boy does he have my heart. He hates eggs and loves bacon and nachos, is the very best dishwasher our family has ever known, and loves nothing more than a movie night with snacks. We love our Ever Knight and I just can't believe he is TEN!!!

Cora's Birthday Interview

Cora loves Barbies and shopping, sparkles and bows. She tells everyone who will listen how she was born on the beach, and while that's not exactly the case, she is our forever LA baby and loves the sand more than life. She has become the pickiest little eater which drives me bananas and basically lives on sweets and carbs, but at the same time she doesn't ever complain about the food I serve (just won't eat it haha) so whatever, I guess it's not that bad! She loves lippy kisses and perfume, swimming and coloring. She's desperate to start dance lessons and she is all in at a party. She skips and twirls and dances around the house constantly and is such a sunshiney angel to have in our family. We love our Corabelle Wigglesworth--happy birthday baby girl!!!

Maskless church

Our first day back to mask-less church definitely deserved a picture. Now, if we can just keep them off in the future I'll be really happy!

Ummmm....hello cutie pie kids!!!

We even put on lipstick--something I haven't done in at least a year!

TBH, it felt just a little unnerving and I felt more anxious flutters than peaceful feelings, and I'm OK with acknowledging and respecting those feelings while also optimistically moving forward. Our world is a weird place sometimes and this last year has been all the proof I need! But yay for church and yay for vaccines and yay for progress and yay for seeing smiles again.

Care and Kids

Care and her crew stayed at our house for an extra week after Grands Week and it was really fun having them on our turf. Life was low-key, we did a lot of pool swimming and lake swimming and hanging out, but it was so fun for these cousins to do life together. I really love Carolyn--she's beautiful and kind, charitable and good and just so dang easy to have around! it was so great having their family in our home and we really can't wait for them to come back again soon!!!
