Christmas

Christmas was quiet this year in all the best ways. It was low-key, it was magical, it was mostly focused on helping Talmage heal but it was also spent enjoying the calm, beautiful moments that this season can bring. We were in Sacramento and we did a whole lotta hanging with family and taking care of T. If I'm being honest his recovery was like a million times worse than I expected and seeing him in so much pain filled me with more worry than I think I've ever experienced, but luckily we were surrounded by family that loved us, doted on us, and shouldered some of his healing burden. I've said it a million times but I'll say it again, we are the luckiest to have so many family members who care about us Little Wigs. It was the merriest of Christmases indeed.

We took the 99 because in theory there are more cities and more hospitals just in case something happened to T, but really the highlight of traveling that way was a visit to the original Bakersfield Dewars, a staple of James' youth. We stocked up on chews and ice cream!

Our Christmas Eve Mary Poppins movie date had me sobbing on more than one occasion. I think it may have become my favorite movie. I have seriously considered writing Emily Blunt a thank you card!

Here was the adorable line-up for the second annual McKee cousin nativity. These babies brought such a beautiful spirit to our Christmas Eve.

Papa, Gigi and Grandpa came over to enjoy the performance. It was so wonderful to see him!

Mema and Pepa with their freshly-pj'd grandkids.

I matched with my man and our babies matched each other. Love this crew so very, very much.

SANTA CAME!!!

We went to the Big Wigs on Christmas afternoon and were able to spend a few hours with Honey and Grandpa as well. It was such a treat!

Themed jammies from Grammie on Christmas night. She's a superwoman and has such an eye for beauty, especially with kids books and clothes and toys. I love her!

These two deserve all the heart eyes. I love our baby twins! (She's wearing a 4T, he's in a 3T...we make HUGE children!)

The best of cousins and best of friends.

And the best cousins, girls addition! (As long as Quinny the Instigator is not terrorizing sweet, sensitive Avery, haha!)

No selfie is safe if Coco is around, she's always jumpin' in!

Santa may have delivered the lazer guns to T, but I'm pretty sure these big boys enjoyed them more than anyone else! It was a pretty epic battle at the park the day after Christmas.

Quinny was eager to show Pepa her monkey bar skills!

After Christmas Effie Yaw-ing with the Wigginton crew.

We seriously lucked out when Uncle B became a member of our family. He is WONDERFUL and we love him so much. I'm so grateful for his influence on my children and his loving, peaceful and fun demeanor.

Kate and Brendan just bought a goldendoodle puppy and if these three pictures haven't already made this abundantly clear: I NEED ONE. I WANT ONE. I'M GETTING ONE.

Last-night-in-town sibling date to Leatherby's. It took me an additional 20 minutes after the last person finished their ice cream for me to finish mine. I've always been a slow eater, but maybe I'm getting even slower with age?! This was a wonderful way to end a truly wonderful Christmas.

Seeing Santa 2018

We saw Santa this year at The Village in the Palisades and it was one of the most magical experiences I've ever had with the jolly old man. I'm not kidding, I will never go anywhere else again. Ever! The process was super simple, there were no lines or crowds, and Santa spent a good 15 or 20 minutes with us talking about what each kid wanted for Christmas, showing us pictures of his reindeer and generously sharing his Ho-Ho-Ho laugh. Oh my goodness, it was so good! Coco was a little nervous even though she has been talking about seeing him for days, but other than that it was perfection. On our way out he gave the kids a little treat and T saw Santa's elf on the shelf magically move his head. Mind. Blown. I love our family full of believing, loving, magic souls and I'm so grateful we made this visit happen.

T wants lazer tag and bey blades
Ever wants a foosball table
Quinny wants a surprise present from Santa ("But Mom, do you know what I want? I don't know any present that I want!")
Cora wants a baby

December Was...

...too crazy for individual activity posts, but also too crazy to try and include it all right here in one post. But try I will because I'm behind and Christmas is in like, two days!

So here are all the things that December was:

 Late night movie dates.

Trying on glasses while Daddy picked out a new pair.

Potty-training like a baby boss. The first two days were beyond awful, mostly because her training style was different than all three of her sibs, but once we got a sticker chart we were golden! We've been weeks with no accidents, day or night. Coco is amazing!

Celebrating a big birthday for our good friend (him, not her)!

Multicultural Day partying for both boys.

Dressing up fancy for the tree trimming at Daddy's work. (The kids were soooooo good.)

And it's dark but we got a family shot too.

December was an overcast Friday beach day for just us three Wiggy women...

...and park days with all of these baby besties.

A Santa 5K with friends, followed by brunch (AKA: the only reason I signed up).

Adults-only holiday partying for work, this year complete with a robot camera on wheels that took this fancy photo (insert eye roll), the only pic we got that night.

Visiting a giant Christmas tree and reminiscing about New York tree marathons of our past.

December for Ever and Quinny has basically been this photo-series, again and again:
Grrrrrrr, those two!

Getting caught in a pretend snowstorm at the Grove when in actuality it's like, 70 degrees outside.

Visiting fancy malls and taking pics with fancy walls.

Santa spotting.

Beach days with the boys too.

December was ice skating as a family in Santa Monica.

And taking walks with Ginny and Coco, who recently have been the greatest of friends.

And more recently December has been healing for this sweet little love who had his big bad tonsils removed. It's been more rough than any of us were expecting but we are hoping he's on the mend. He really is the sweetest patient and has been so good, but in so much pain. If anyone is reading this and wants to offer a Christmas prayer or two for this guy, we'll take it!
