We Love Juniper Love

Nope, not spoiled at all.

Heart Eyes

We Spring Break-ed in Sacramento with some of our favorite LA friends and it was such a wonderful week. The next best thing to living by these friends forever is loving each other enough to travel for adventures together forever (and mark my words, this will be the case!) Hello and goodbye to Spring Break...is it summer yet?!

New Floors

There were seven different types of floors visible when you walked in the front door and dang it, I just couldn't take it any longer and decided to re-do it all! We chose Luxury Vinyl Planks in a cool oak and I just love the way they turned out. The color had to be dark enough to settle our bright window room and light enough so that our dark TV room didn't feel like a dungeon and this neutral baby has been perfect. It doesn't pull red or orange or yellow or grey or green or any other hue that this picky-pants refused to love! It's water-proof and pet-proof and I. am. happy!

BEFORE:

White carpet is disgusting.

DURING:

As we pulled up layer by layer of questionable flooring choices I kept laughing and saying, "But why, tho?!" I'm sure someone will think the same thing about my decorating decisions someday!

Of course, my Dad is ALWAYS saving the day around here!

There were so many different heights so we were bringing some floor up and others down. Gosh, this was a lot of work!

The project was supposed to take two days and ended up taking six...my garage and front yard looked like this for most of that time hahaha!

Giddiness level: 1000!!!

AFTER (ISH):
I'm especially happy with how the white risers on the stairs look! I really fought for those, and was nervous I'd be disappointed (I'm not!)

My window room looking so fresh and so clean, clean!

Oh gosh, and that view down the hallway to my room!!! Still so many things I want to do around here but we have come so far and I'm grateful. Yay for floors!!!

T's birthday interview

He's easily pleased and grateful for the littlest things, including a birthday where our house was in commotion and disarray due to new floors being installed. He got a few new toys and a few good books and mostly, a gallon of the blue paint he's been talking about painting his room for months and was nothing but brace-faced smiles from ear to ear. This year he's persevered through at-home pandemic school (that btw, he's hated BIG TIME), started a neighborhood can-collecting business that has earned him enough money to buy a Nintendo Switch with all his favorite games, fell in love with Juniper Love, memorized more baseball facts and statistics than anyone can keep up with and had fun changing the color of his rubber bands whenever he gets the chance. We are proud of him and love him so much--can't believe my biggest baby is 12!!!

New room for his birthday! He picked the color and helped me paint and was thrilled with how it turned out! Also, that Pottery Barn chair is so cute and well-used but it's brand new and possibly the noisiest chair in existence!
