13 years in Sausalito

At the very last minute James talked me into dropping off the kids with the Big Wigs in search of some R&R in a Sausalito B&B. Best. Decision. Ever. He was so proud of himself, and he absolutely has every right to be, because this 24 hours away was a perfect reset for our relationship. We are definitely guilty of wearing our Mom and Dad hats tirelessly and turns out, Heather and James are way more fun! We ate good food, enjoyed some fun adventures, slept for a solid 10.5 hours without kid or pup interruption, and legitimately felt madly in love! Happy 13th anniversary, James Wigginton. Nothing unlucky about this trip, that's for sure!

Tell me Heather's on a trip without telling me Heather's on a trip! (Always drinking my calories and never regretting a sip!)

Best dinner of my life!

Made James take a pic with every 13 we saw:

James won this meal--BREAKFAST NACHOS!!!

Cutest ever ice cream crepe from Japantown in San Francisco.

So happy to celebrate 13 crazy, fun, hard, happy, difficult, beautiful years with you.

Field Trip to the Zoo

Our school pod went on a field trip to the zoo and it's going to get old hearing me say this but, man, adventuring again after a pandemic lockdown is such a thrill. I feel whole again in ways I knew were missing but I could do absolutely nothing about. I am feeling more and more like myself...and I love it! I missed me and I missed this! The Sacramento Zoo is small but the kids loved it and the weather was perfect and I'll relive this day again and again it was so good. (We even got a parking spot!)

Too many pictures, you've been warned...

The Kinder Crew!

Man Alive, he's 35!!!

We celebrated him at Tuesday family dinner with the Wigs, we celebrated him with a big breakfast on the day-of, and we celebrated him with a huge BBQ and movie night that next weekend (oh yeah, and with a popsicle from Ash at the ball field). Somehow those 10's and 5's feel like the biggest deal, and we were so glad to party hard for this guy's 35th! Happy birthday, James. We all love you BIG TIME!

He might just be carrying his favorite child--don't tell Cora!

It was our inaugural run with our new movie projector and it was a success! I can see many more outdoor movies in our future for sure.

Easter

Easter this year was Saturday brunch, an epic egg hunt (thanks to Chaya and Uncle B) and conference on Saturday with the Wigs, followed by baskets, cinnamon rolls and conference on Sunday with the McKees. Living close to family certainly has its perks, and celebrating holiday's is high on that list.
