While Daddy Was Busy Studying...

Talmage and I had a photoshoot! Actually the first half of the time Jim was using the computer Talmage was chillaxing in his stroller. His new thing is to put his feet up while he snoozes away. Funny kid! He's been such a trooper as we drag him here and there on our many excursions! Then we found this bench tucked away in campus. Talmage loved sitting and people watching. Like mother, like son!

Talmage's New Highchair

The primary president in our new ward had a highchair she wasn't using and is letting us borrow it while we are here. Talmage LOVES it. He still hasn't got the concept of picking up the food from the tray and putting it in his mouth (ironic that he puts EVERYTHING else in his mouth though, isn't it?) but he loves to beat on it like a drum and send his crackers flying in every direction. Feeding time is so much better lately. Thanks Sister King!

Cambridge Parks

I super love finding new parks hidden in small neighborhoods, or right in the middle of the city for that matter. This is a park we found near our new doctor's office. Talmage loves the swings, and for the first time went down the slide. His smile as he went down was priceless. I can tell we'll be frequenting the parks quite often this next year.

Clothes Hanging Skills

On Saturday my neighbor Rosemary and I were hanging our clothes at the same time. I told her it was my first time ever hanging clothes on a line and I would love to know any secrets she could pass my way. She complimented me on my clothes-hanging skills and said I'm doing much better than my predecessor! Those really were her words. Get excited! It is a little time-consuming but clothes dried in the fresh England air smell SO good.

Provident Living

Baby food is RIDICULOUSLY expensive here so we are honing up our provident living skills! Talmage is enjoying the yummy variety, and we are saving tons of money. One of Jim's professor's from last year has a pear tree. He generously gave us a huge bag of pears. We skinned them, cored them, lemon juiced them, boiled them, mixed them (thanks for teaching us what to do over the summer Mom) and oula, Talmage has food for five weeks. Throw in some oatmeal and sweet potatoes and we've got ourselves a delicious, nutritious and inexpensive meal. Now that's what I'm talking about!

Even though we all speak English, we've found that there are quite a few differences between England English and American English. For instance, what the heck is a rising bollard?

Yep, we've had to learn a new vocabulary. We're still working on it, and we trip up quite a bit. Who knew that referring to someone's cute pants was really complimenting their underwear? Woops! You live and you learn.

Another one of my favorite movies, might I add. My mom and I have enjoyed this movie together millions of times (and since we've been married Jim has been forced to watch it at least that many!) Seriously, sometimes I feel like I must be on the set of that blessed movie. These are just a few snapshots I took around my neighborhood. Unreal, right?
