A Weekend in the Bay with some LA Bae's

I love these women right here. LOVE THEM!!! So when the stars aligned and we realized that a weekend in Northern California was more reality than dream I was ridiculously pumped. Laura, Rachel, Melissa and I all have kids the same age and between school and church and sports and Friday ice cream/beach day we basically Sister-wived our way through our LA life. These women are my rock and I've missed them. If it's even possible though, my kids have missed them even more. They drank up our weekend together like Gatorade in the Mojave. These are their people, their home, and we loved seeing them. (Melissa and Co. couldn't come last minute and you guys, you have never seen such tears in the Wigginton home. I didn't think a few of my kids would ever get over it. We miss you Burnetts. We NEEEEEEEEED to see you STAT.)

We spent a long and wonderful day at Big Basin, which is even more precious of a memory considering it was ravaged in the most recent fires. I'm grateful to hear that the trees have survived--they were built for this--but I'm so sad that the ranger stations and cabins were demolished. Other than a hike that was almost double what we thought it would be (ahhhh!), this day was out of this world!

 She hiked almost 7 miles by herself, but after a big fall I ended up carrying her for the other 3.

None of us live by each other anymore but I know we will be friends forever and I can't wait for more summer meet-ups to come. They're never, ever, ever getting rid of me hahaha! 

 Oh and PS, I want to keep Eden. That's all...

 JK...not done yet. CORA!!! This is my baby and I love her so much.

Running Club 4-Eva Eva

We made a goal to see each other every month, despite the lameness of my Nor Cal move, and so far we are doing a pretty great job. My LA friends are my forever friends, of that I have no doubt, and I want to put in the effort to nourish those relationships. I went back to LA in June to celebrate Michelle's 30th birthday and then in June Michelle and Corie and their cute kids came to Sacramento and spent a week in our home, literally two weeks after we moved in. (They were such great sports about sitting on the floor since we had exactly no furniture---except my blue couch!) I still get FOMO when they're together and I'm six hours away but I'm doing my best to just enjoy the heck out of them when I have them (and not think too much about it when I don't, haha!)

"I live in the country now," seems to be my most repeated phrase recently. Sure, some call it the suburbs but there are freaking dear in my front yard, so...

Oh yeah, then we took family pictures in our matching tie-dye shirts, Madewell jeans and Soludos because that's just what we do. We love each other!

 We're raising kids that are crazy friends too!

We got a crazy idea to paint my Great Grandmother's piano from the original wood to gray...and did the whole thing, from start to finish, in ONE DAY! It was amazing and so much work, and basically all I did was sit and watch because I'm the worst painter. But I'm an excellent cheerleader. 

Isn't it PERFECT??? Like, I legit could not be happier with it if I tried I love it so much!!!

Folklore-filtered friends. Goodness gracious, I miss them. I'm up so expect some LA-based Runners Club photos this next month. Can't wait to see them again!
