Jim's Birthday

Jim woke-up on Tuesday morning with just one request--he wanted a mango for breakfast, and he wanted me to cut it for him. I of course obliged (it was his birthday for heaven sake) but not before I stuck a candle in it and sang him his first of many birthday songs of the day.
It's amazing what just a few short weeks will do. Talmage could have cared less about his own birthday candles just a month ago, but he was super interested in Daddy's candle! Jim let him help blow it out!

We ventured into London for Jimmy's big day. We started at the Tower of London where we went on a tour with the Yeoman Wardens, saw the Crown Jewels and chased Talmage around the premises.

This was Mom's first visit to the Tower, and our second. It's amazing how much we learned on this second go-around. For instance, the Yeoman Warden's all live within the Tower and have a 10 pm curfew. Crazy, huh?

After leaving the Tower of London (and after taking a picture of Mom in front of the Tower Bridge) we went on a tour of London on a hop-on/hop-off tour bus. We sat on top of the bus and an awesome man told us stories, history and information about London's top sites. I told him it was Jim's birthday, and the tour guide serenaded him as we left the bus. It was a great tour.
We hopped off in front of good ole Big Ben for a cute photo-op! Then it was off to the Birthday Boy's dinner pick. Of course he chose Russian, and it was absolutely delicious. The best part, however, was when they came out with his birthday cake.
We asked for a cake with a candle on top. We got a cake with a firecracker on top! It was hilarious!

Talmage couldn't take his eyes off of the candle, and we couldn't take our eyes off of the desserts. Yum! Happy Birthday James, thanks for sharing it with us!
