a LONG trip

The flight was good, but LONG. Fortunately I worked some magic with the person at the desk (I think the crying baby and my own tears helped!) and he gave us a free upgrade to a bulkhead seat. Jim and I got six extra inches of leg room, and they brought Talmage a bassonet that hooked onto the wall in front of me. SWEET! He slept almost the whole way (we left at 7 pm) and when he wasn't sleeping the angel baby sat on my lap and watched re-runs of Hannah Montana! The flight was relatively uneventful (although does anyone else get even just a little bit nervous when the plane starts bumping like crazy...especially when there's no land in sight?!) and ten+ hours later we landed at Heathrow airport.
Jim and I didn't really sleep and we were wasted! Talmage was screaming at the top of his lungs (which again worked to our advantage--the British officers escorted us to the very front of the customs line...no wait time for us!) and with 4 carry-ons, 5 pieces of checked luggage, a car seat, a stroller and the kid we were off (I wish I had a picture of the circus we must have looked like...but who had hands to take it!?) Our taxi driver met us at the front of the airport and one hour later we pulled up to our new home in Cambridge. It really is so cute and we couldn't be happier. It's a two-story row home and there are 2 bedrooms and one bathroom. After living in that tiny one-bedroom in Provo this place is a mansion! We love it.
Talmage boy is finally getting used to his new home (after a week and a half) but the first few days were torture! He didn't sleep well, or eat well and he spent most of his time SCREAMING! The poor baby. It was hard on me and I knew exactly what was happening. He had no idea what hit him! Here he is on night #1 in our new place!
